Anna Creus

Anna is a visiting PhD Student from Barcelona (Spain). She holds a B. Sc in Chemistry (2009) and another in Human Nutrition and Dietetics (2012) from the University of Barcelona. She also received a Master in Food Research, Development and Innovation from University of Barcelona (2013). Anna’s PhD work focuses in the study of the synergy between polyphenols and probiotics and their impact on health. During her stage she aims to study probiotics and prebiotics synergism in a murine model to improve the treatment of malnutrition and the long-term prevention of associated cardiovascular disease. Anna has a wide background in mass spectrometry, specifically working with Ultra performance liquid cromatography- tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS), spectrophotometry and Orbitrap mass spectrometry.

Interesting facts: When she’s not around the lab, Anna enjoys swing dancing, and all outdoors specially skiing and hiking. And she’s just start learning to play the alto saxophone, It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing).
