Jorge has been part of the Finlay lab since April 2015. He is originally from Guadalajara México where he received his bachelor degree in Biotechnology Engineering in the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM). He currently studies cell-to-cell bacteria interactions in the gastrointestinal tract, specifically quorum sensing and synthetic bacterial communities. He is a recipient of the Mitacs Globalink Graduate Fellowship Award.
Interesting facts: Jorge enjoys playing electric guitar, hiking and petting dogs.
