Rozlyn is an MD/PhD student in the lab investigating the role of the early life gut microbiota in determining childhood asthma/allergy susceptibility. Born and raised in Edmonton, AB, Rozlyn completed her BSc. (Hons) with a Concentration in Health Sciences and played varsity soccer at Carleton University in Ottawa before moving to Vancouver in 2015. Rozlyn’s undergraduate research focused on using mouse models to investigate the effects of early life antibiotic exposure on peanut allergies. Through this work, she was given the opportunity to volunteer with various groups advocating for children with allergies/asthma and has continued this work since moving to Vancouver. In her free time, Rozlyn also enjoys volunteering with groups like Let’s Talk Science and taking advantage of the mild Vancouver weather to run, hike, and ski as much as possible.
